Charity Auction for Children Suffering from Cancer (09:31)
A large-scale charity auction will be held again this year on the first day of Advent, on 28th November. The event will take place in the assembly hall of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The event is organized by the “Rákmentes Világért” (“For a World without Cancer”) Foundation, which has initiated the charity auction with the intention of establishing tradition. The Foundation welcomes all firms, company executives, decision-makers and supporters who by participating in the bidding and by purchasing works of art wish to provide help to children suffering from cancer. The catalogue for the auction contains among others porcelain vases from Hollóháza, Zsolnay and Herend, etchings, paintings and unique series of stamps.

  • Vodafone is the worlds largest and most successful mobile telecom operator. What is the secret behind the success and which are the most important future targets
  • Vodafone entered the Hungarian market in a stage when it seemed that the two competitors had "concreted" the market to be theirs. In spite of that, Vodafone has managed to get significant market shares and the brand is known by most of the Hungarians.
  • The marketing tone and methods have turned into to be not just aggressive but in cases also arrogant between operators. What are the reasons and where do you think it will end?

“WELCOME ON BOARD!” CELEBRATING HUNGARY’S EU ACCESSION (16:20)

The common event is organized by the "Permanent Commission of the EU-Chambers in
Hungary
" (whereof the SCCH is a member)

The purpose of the event is to welcome Hungary to the EU.

The program will consist of guest speeches given by VIP-guests, entertainment program, a short cruise on the Danube, and a raffle with lots of prices from generous sponsors.

Drinks and "snacks" will be served.

Bengt Frithiofsson is visiting Hungary to prepare a TV program about Hungary’s present situation
and position as a famous wineproducing country.  Mainly it will be about the “new” producers from
Villány, and further on the wellknown, traditional Tokaj.
Of course he will make some reflections over goose liver as well, as he is personally a great goose

SCCH defeat Junior Chamber Hungary in Floorball (16:21)

On Sunday, April 6, the “DHL Challenge” (a sports tournament, initiated by the DHL Hungary
and the British Chamber of Commerce, BCCH) continued with an exciting floor-ball match in
“Épitõk Sportklub-Sportcsarnok” in Népliget.

After having been challenged by the Canadian Chamber to play ice-hockey, a match won by
the SCCH, it was our turn to “challenge” another Chamber, in another sport.
