20.05.2021 - Y2021 GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE CHAMBER - Event summary

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hungary held its General Assembly 2021 on May 20 in the presence of 29 members.

The event was opened by H.E. Dag Hartelius, Ambassador of Sweden to Hungary and Honorary President of SCCH, who reflected on the Chamber's journey since last summer; highlighting its increased activity and visibility in several areas including collaboration with several ministries. Another area was linked to the survey on Corporate Social Responsibility commissioned by the Swedish Embassy leading to an interesting panel discussion and the initiative CSR Awareness Week 2021 taking place end of June.

Our President, Thomas Straumits, briefly summarized our activities and results along the four pillars of SCCH’s strategy as defined by our members in deep interviews and discussions: Exposure, Advocacy, Networking and Information sharing and celebrated the results of our digital Lucia event reaching more than 35000 impressions.

At the meeting, we approved the overall budget for 2021 and introduced a few revisions to the Deed of Foundation which were voted unanimously. We are happy to announce that Andrea Sztarcsevity from Volvo Cars and Ákos Eőry from Leinonen were elected as Election Committee members and will support the Chamber to prepare the elections in 2022.

We are also very proud to welcome 9 new members to the Chamber who introduced themselves to the General Assembly: Airvent, Bettson Group (Hubsson), HAVD Group Interior, Kinnarps, Nefab, Nolato, Papyrus, Qamcom and S-Tér.
