The Embassy deals with passports and other consular issues. The Embassy receives and arranges visits for delegations from the Swedish parliament, different governmental authorities and local governments. Hungary's upcoming EU accession shall increase the number of the visits.
Currently 5 diplomats from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs serve at the Embassy, alongside with 9 local employees. A defence attaché and a police liaison officer are also posted at the Embassy. The Swedish Trade Council has a separate office in Budapest for export promotion.
